Rules
Conversations, problems, etc from other channels are not to be braught up in #PartyChat. We like a drama free
channel and we'll keep it that way!
Repeating text over and over again to attract attention will trigger our script's and bot's flood kick/bans.
Ascii floods and frequent nick changes will also trigger an automatic script/bot kick/ban.
Spamming for another network, channel, service, or commodity in channel will not be tolerated. Spammers will
be asked politely not to advertise. If the request is ignored, the user risks a ban.
No bots of any kind will be tolerated in channel other than our own channel bot. There are no public bot
commands available in #PartyChat.
Those caught auto sending unsolicited .exe or .ini files to people while sitting on channel will be banned
immediately. These files often contain dangerous viruses (trojans) that can infect and slowly destroy a
computer. Only you can protect yourself from becoming infected with a Trojan. Never accept a file from ANYONE
via DCC or E-Mail, or from ANY website that is NOT in .zip format. This allows you to run a virus scan (ie...F-Secure)
on the file before unzipping it. In addition, always disable auto dcc get in your client (ie...mIRC) in the dcc
options section.
There are many Internet Denial of Services attacks (DOS) such as smurfs, icmp floods, nukes, ctcp flooding,
and various other warbot flood/kills that can drop your server connection and/or your modem connection. DOS
is a very serious crime punishable with stiff fines and/or imprisonment. #PartyChat Ops place an immediate and
indefinate site ban on all those who deny services to others. We also report all DOS attacks to the sender's
ISP and demand the offender's services be terminated before the site ban is lifted. We need your help though.
We ask all who have suffered abuse to log the incident(s) and report it/them to a channel operator.
The channel operators are always on the lookout for abuse and they will quickly put a stop to it by first warning,
then kicking (and if neceassary), banning any violators. However, ops do not get involved in personal disputes
between members and will not tolerate mud-slinging between the two parties in open channel. Both parties will be
asked to take their argument to a private message screen. Your best defense against a frustrating, go-nowhere,
situation is to use the /ignore or the /silence commands.
HAVE FUN! :)
